HelpCard was founded by Attila Cankan while at university. The startup is independent, B corp certified with funding from various charities and ethical VCs.
HelpCard works as a standard tap-and-pay card at approved retailers. Guidance is provided to discourage the purchase of undesirable goods, and the card is restricted to in-store use only. ATM withdrawals are not permitted to help protect the intended use of funds.
We currently take a small percentage from each donation to maintain the service. We hope to remove this fee once additional funding becomes available.
We generate revenue through a small fee taken from donations, partnerships with retailers and through in-app advertising.
Rewards are offered based on donation milestones, ranging from retailer vouchers and complimentary coffees to exclusive tickets for popular entertainment events.
HelpCards are distributed in collaboration with trusted, frontline charities who work directly with vulnerable communities. This ensures donations reach those who genuinely need support. Our platform remains fully donor-controlled, giving you the freedom to decide if, when, and how much you want to give.
